Passive House
Villa Colina Tropical was built according to some of the concepts of "Passive House." Huge windows of a high quality, provide natural heating during the very sunny winter months. (If by bad luck there was no good weather for several days, the radiators would take over maintaining a temperature of 21 degrees during the day, 19 degrees at night.) Thick "green roof" and walls of ceramic airbricks providing excellent thermal insulation.
Venting skylight for summer ventilation , healthy coated lime / hemp ...
Nature
We believe that protecting and experiencing nature is very important. The villa is situated above one of the most beautiful valleys in Granada province, the Tropical Valley, overlooking the Rio Verde, which runs alongside the typical white-washed Andalucian village of Jete (2.5 km from the villa). In January and february, the almond trees are in flowers, and the landscape takes a bright color between pink and white.
Intimate Location
We have no close neighbors. The next house is a few hundreds meters away up a hill. We are surrounded by subtropical orchards. Enjoy the tranquility and the silence, sunbath, relax in peace, listen to frogs concerts, listen or play music under the sky full of stars.
Subtropical climate
Welcome on the Costa Tropical! the Sierra Nevada, the highest mountain range in Spain, provides a barrier against European winters, in addition to blocking warm Mediterranean air from the south, creating a unique sub-tropical microclimate, not found anywhere else in Europe. This superb climate offers 320 days per year of sunshine and warm average temperatures, providing an ideal environment. Also winter are mild with clear blue skies. The property is surrounded by tropical fruit trees including avocado, custard apple, mango, papaya, guava, persimmon and banana, as well as pomegranate, lemon, orange, fig, olive and almond trees, and a lush variety of Mediterranean flora.
