The adventure starts here!
The choice of an appropriate vehicle is essential to the success of your holiday! Andalucia is far from being a ‘flat’ region and is very hilly. The Sierra Nevada is the second highest mountain range in Europe, after the Alps. It contains the highest point of continental Spain, Mulhacen, at 3478 m (11,411 ft.) above sea level. The Costa Tropical is characterized by pretty beaches but also has stunning cliffs jutting out to the sea. Also, the many charming villages perched high in the mountains and hidden in the valleys.
It is in this setting that the villa Colina Tropical is to be found, via the pretty mountain road from the village of Jete, which is concreted for 90% of the way with steep slopes and tight turns. The road is also used for the transportation of tropical fruits by the local farmers and there are one or two ‘sleeping policemen’ who are not there for their usual function of slowing the traffic, but to allow the rainwater to run off. It is for this reason that we suggest you rent a vehicle such as a Berlingo, Kangoo, Partner, Fiat Panda, etc. as they have a higher clearence from the ground and, therefore, suited to this type of terrain and will allow you to discover the delights of the subtropical landscape!
